The biggest trends to look out for are:

Grungy/Hippie girls - Birds – Photographs with Slogans – Patriotism – Love Hearts – Colourful City Skylines

Floral prints were widely seen (Erderm, Alice +Olivia, Blumarine), and laces/prints with a 3D floral element (Louis Vuitton, Christopher Kane).

The degrade floral print i created has a 3D appearance as flat floral shapes layered with shaded/textured clusters of flowers.  The crochet trims also bring floral shapes into the third dimension.

I’ve used candy coloured stripes as seen at Mulberry, which contrast with all the pretty florals to give the collection a fresh, modern feel.

Inspired by spartan warriors and female heroins from fantasy films, this spring/summer collection was a freelance project.  The client was looking for 10 striking evening-wear looks to launch their web based label for strong, confident young women.  The collection had to contain fashion conscious styles and have a very commercial aesthetic, and also a touch of luxury, aimed at the higher price end of the high street.

The thick, black straps and the more delicate plaited details literally weaving throughout the collection will be made in tough embossed leather to contrast with the fluid peached silk like fabrics and feather light chiffons.

The circular patterns seen on two of the dresses are inspired by spartan shields, these will be made feminine by using beading.

This collection is designed for todays typical woman who battles through life every week and still wants to look just as glamorous as their celebrity icons at the weekend.

Like Hannah, the inspiration and wearer of this piece, this dress is fun and a touch flirty with its sweetheart neckline, plunging back drop and reams of fabric to play with in the full skirt (which ripples into a very full circle if you get the chance to spin around in it).

Made in timeless duchess satin in understated pale mint this dress has a touch of class.  But the frothy, chiffon edges around the hem and cute double bow detail, in the small of the back, soften the sophisticated look of this dress to give it a girlish twist.

Swimwear is often thought to be too skimpy.  But the truth is; those slimmer cuts are often the most flattering.  I find “cut out” styles are a fantastic way to show off without having to breathe in all day long.  Showing a large section of flesh can make the most confident woman feel self-conscious.  But just a hint of skin is perfect.  It will break up the block of colour which can give you a wider appearance and it’s very sexy even when you are still covering any problem area’s you don’t want out in the open.

This would be beautiful in silk jersey, best worn with skin tight black jeans.

Assymetric 80's top

This collection was designed with the Giles Deacon label in mind.  After researching his playful use of colour and quirky version of sexy I sought out some inspiration in the form of two vintage garments.
