The biggest trends to look out for are:

Warrior collection

Inspired by spartan warriors and female heroins from fantasy films, this spring/summer collection was a freelance project. The client was looking for 10 striking evening-wear looks to launch their web based label for strong, confident young women. The collection had to contain fashion conscious styles and have a very commercial aesthetic, and also a touch of luxury, aimed at the higher price end of the high street.

The thick, black straps and the more delicate plaited details literally weaving throughout the collection will be made in tough embossed leather to contrast with the fluid peached silk like fabrics and feather light chiffons.

The circular patterns seen on two of the dresses are inspired by spartan shields, these will be made feminine by using beading.

This collection is designed for todays typical woman who battles through life every week and still wants to look just as glamorous as their celebrity icons at the weekend.

Modern Bridesmaids Dress

This Lauren Lamont bridesmaid dress is for the modern bridesmaid.

Like Hannah, the inspiration and wearer of this piece, this dress is fun and a touch flirty with its sweetheart neckline, plunging back drop and reams of fabric to play with in the full skirt (which ripples into a very full circle if you get the chance to spin around in it).

Made in timeless duchess satin in understated pale mint this dress has a touch of class. But the frothy, chiffon edges around the hem and cute double bow detail, in the small of the back, soften the sophisticated look of this dress to give it a girlish twist.

The “Olivia” dress

The “Olivia” dress is the latest design from Lauren Lamont. In luxurious viscose jersey this little black dress is 2010′s perfect shape. With hand smocking detail down the front it will really accentuate your curves and the pleated, tiered sleeve gives you a feminine take on the trend for 80′s style power shoulders.

There are so many dilemma’s to contend with when choosing swimwear. The amount of flesh you should show/cover is very debatable and depends hugely on confidence as well as body shape.

Swimwear is often thought to be too skimpy. But the truth is; those slimmer cuts are often the most flattering. I find “cut out” styles are a fantastic way to show off without having to breathe in all day long. Showing a large section of flesh can make the most confident woman feel self-conscious. But just a hint of skin is perfect. It will break up the block of colour which can give you a wider appearance and it’s very sexy even when you are still covering any problem area’s you don’t want out in the open.

80′s revival

This top combines two very big trends of the moment. The loose, batwing, 80′s shape which has resurfaced and assymetry seen all over the catwalks.

This would be beautiful in silk jersey, best worn with skin tight black jeans.

The design work and this final illustration was a personal project simply to test my own diversity as a designer. The design signature of this work is my own, but i was also inspired by famous swimwear designer Melissa Odabash.
